His nickname has a purely ironic joke-kind-of-meaning, coming from Shimei's disgust when it comes to dogs and his tendencies to act much like one, an insult that stuck as a nickname when his friends wouldn't let it drop. He still hates it to this day, but now tolerates it and answers to it.

Shimei was born into a very poor family, where he quickly learned to become the bully at school in order to protect his little sister. Everyone feared him, and you might have even considered him to be a gangster, so to speak, however when his father died, this had to end. So he picked up acting as a host at night, and has done so all through his high school life. He is, to put it simply, a rather short-tempered person with violent tendencies and the ability to hold grudges. He can seem very dim-witted at times, a fact that he is aware of and irritated by, and this often gets him into many fights. He has a large ego, and to most is very annoying.
