Václav is a voice library originating from the HIS-VOICE (also known as HIS) announcement software developed in the late 90s. He was first installed throughout Prague's train stations to automate announcements in Czech and foreign languages, such as German and English.

Václav (fan-made character) is in no way officially affiliated with mikroVOX, Czech railways or Václav Knop. He is a personification of Knop's voice. His UTAU library was made as an experiment to reverse-engineer his original recordings and restore them for the UTAU program.

Václav is energetic and mischievous, despite his rather calm voice. He has trouble paying attention to one thing at a time. Very depressed.
