The voicebank was originally made from a CV recording, but edited heavily. The voice was originally whimsycreator’s early CV attempt, but pitched down and edited with flags for a more mature tone. The mic used was low quality.

The character of Reina Hydra is a magical girl (mahou shoujo,) and a quiet, poised young woman who loves the ocean. She is passionate about the ocean and marine biology. She is knowledgeable about the ocean and is often awkwardly over-sharing trivia about it. Reina has low-self esteem. Despite her social awkwardness, She is very brave when it comes with danger. She is shy when it comes to social situations.

Reina was thought to be a regular human, but is eventually revealed to be part water-human descended from the Nauticans, people of the lost civilization of Nautica. She picked up a reccesive gene that essentially made her a water-human. This explains her love of water, skill in swimming, ability to communicate with sea animals, and ability to hold her breath for minutes at a time. She can even taste differences in bottled water brands. Her turquoise eyes also glow with bioluminescence when she feels strong emotions.

She has a crush on Rosa Rosada, a fellow UTAU created by whimsycreator.
