Backstory/Background:
Hotaru Mai is a robot created by quite a clumsy-but-loving scientist. His reason for creating Mai being that he was such a bad dancer, his dance-partner grabbed her bags and headed toward some other man.
Feeling furious and betrayed, Hotaru Mai was born, being his so called dance-partner and more a best friend than the woman was. Mai is friendly, quick-witted, and polite, and never seems to hold a grudge to people.
She, however, has a hard time remembering common-core things, like how to clean up simple messes when breaking things into pieces, how to take care of her robot-dog, Sk!pper (Skipp-errrh) and how to find the right one to plan a party. (She usually picks herself for this aspect anyways.)
Her close friend being her creator's UTAUs, (Al-loid and Ele Phan). She has a knack for creating arts and crafts learned from the 'Loid and Elephant, and also knows how to do simple magic tricks like pulling a bunny out of a hat. She also knows how to make various necklaces, and in her past time makes magical jewelry in her urban shop.

Grey TV-head with emoticons for a face, glows when embarrased and uses her tv-head for a light in the dark (as well as her floral antennaes), floral flip-flops and glow lantern (She carries this around as a joke, playing the fact she stores candy in it for safe-keeping).
