Previous affiliations and history.

Originally created as an incarnation of trauma in 2017, Cloters first appearance showed a much more edgy side, portraying him as much more ghastly and ghoulish, with claws covered in blood while brandishing a blue halo with two feathers on the right side.

In 2019, his character was revisited for an UTAU voicebank and received a redesign, depicting him in a typical sailor uniform to match another UTAU made around the same time, Umi Kurage, who was created to be his opposite.

In early 2023, a proposal arose to include Umi along with Cloter in the VoiceFace, the idea arose again later that year, and the decision was made to distribute them for the 2024 virtual singer line-up.

After putting together and recording the databases, with slight changes to character appearance and personality, the publication for their VoiceFace databases was announced on May 3rd, 2024, a day after their fifth UTAU anniversary.

During the years, Cloter has recieved over several revisions to his backstory, character, and voice, but now serves as a vocalist for VoiceFace's 2024 virtual singer line-up.

His personality is based off of Giroro from Keroro Gunsou and Sakamoto from Nichijou

Personality and bio.

Cloter the reincarnation of a mourning sailor at sea. He initially comes across as cold and intimidating but is, in reality, driven by anxious and irrational decisions.

Others tend to be scared of him due to his habit of looming over them and acting seemingly detattched, he is genuine and soft at his core. He often bends over backwards for those he loves, especially his adoptive daughter, Umi, who is his entire world. Sometimes he can be short tempered, grumpy and impatient, which adds to his initial intimidation.

He doesn't remember very much from his previous life, but he has a strong desire to protect those he cares about the most. He tends to become very sentimental over small things reguarding Umi and her interests, but he doesn't know why. He constantly worries that something bad may happen to her.

He roughly looks like a cross between a demon and a ghost, a "ghoul" if you will.

While Cloter has a canon personality and backstory, it can be discarded for user's personal preferences. Please keep familial dynamics in consideration when writing.

Relations

• Umi Kurage - Adoptive daughter

Umi and Cloter are both reincarnations of ghosts that manage to find each other no matter what reality they end up in. Their dynamic is similar to Simon and young Marceline from Adventure Time.

Umi enjoys wreaking havoc, while Cloter is always ever so slightly behind, often clueless and flustered with Umi's antics. The two love to exaggerate their annoyance towards each other with over-the-top and sarcastic comments, but it's all in good fun. If anything, Cloter is overbearing and protective of Umi and would never wish to harm her, which Umi makes a point to tease him about.

Cloter finds that encouraging Umi's mischievous tendencies and behaviours makes her happy, and he finds it endearing that it is her way of showing affection for others. Cloter loves to spoil her rotten with anything she wants because he has a hard time saying no to her.

There is never a dull or uninteresting moment in their life because Umi keeps them active and grounded.
