Astaroth's origin is mostly a mystery, but he claims to be a shark-demon from the bermuda triangle.

Astaroth is a bit of a brat, and despite how much he hates being told he's acting like a kid or is mistaken for one, he doesn't seem to care much about changing himself for the better. He's annoying and touchy, and likes to hug people and hold onto them for as long as they'll let him or force him off. He often lies to get what he wants but usually feels bad about it.

While he's an annoyance most of the time, he's very emotional and will cry when feeling any intense emotions, whether is happiness, sadness or anger. He cares a lot about his friends and family and would do anything to protect them. He's closest to his cousin, Sadaaki and the 2 are best friends, though he and Satoko actually get along the best.
